Photographer & Visionary
After spending many years in New York City as a musician and then as an audio recording engineer, I made the decision to close that door and open a new one. The music and recording industries were changing rapidly and the cost of living in Manhattan was out of control. In 1999, after a great deal of soul searching, I decided to move back to Long Island, close to where I grew up, to begin the next chapter of my life.
Who would have thought that the next chapter, and my new adventure, was going to be as a photographer?
I started with a simple camera and began shooting anything and everything, soon realizing that my greatest enjoyment was coming from photographing people. The more I shot, the more my photography started moving in the direction of portraiture, fashion and beauty.
Over the years I’ve been inspired and influenced by many photographers. To name a few, in no particular order….. Paolo Roversi, Dean Collins, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, as well as some more contemporary photographers like Sue Bryce, Matthew Jordan Smith, Damien Lovegrove and Peter Hurley.
“I must say, it’s been one hell of a journey.”
